The 2011 Scream Awards from SPIKE TV are on the way just a few weeks prior to Halloween!  The sixth-annual installment of the awards show honoring fantasy/sci-fi/horror genres of film, television, actors and crews, will be shown on October 18th.  Previous winners in 2010 included the movies “Inception,” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse,” and TV show “True Blood.”  Winning actors included Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson from “Twilight,” as well as Alexander Skarsgard and Anna Paquin from “True Blood.”

Leading the way in terms of total nominations for awards are the movies “X-Men: First Class” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.”  “Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Thor” received eleven and nine nominations respectively, while “Game of Thrones” and “True Blood” are up for seven awards.

Some of the actors up for awards this year include Pattinson and Stewart aren’t on the nominees this year, but their fellow vampire cohorts from “True Blood” are.  That’s because neither of the final two “Twilight” films have been released yet, but “Harry Potter” has seen its series come to an end, and could pick up several awards.

Here’s a look at several of the 2011 Scream Awards movie & TV nominees that were announced earlier this month.
