The Avengers 2012 Movie Reviews, Showtimes & Tickets
On Friday, May 4th, comic book superhero fans will be flocking to theaters around the country for Marvel’s “The Avengers” film. “The Avengers” 2012 movie showtimes, tickets and reviews will be heavily searched for in the coming days and weeks, as viewers prepare for this latest superhero film.
The new Marvel movie has a run time of 2 hours 22 minutes and is rated PG-13. Directed by Joss Whedon, this one has an all-star ensemble cast including Robert Downey Jr. reprising his role as Tony Stark aka “Iron Man,” Scarlett Johansson as Natasha Romanoff aka “Black Widow,” and Samuel L. Jackson as Agent Nick Fury of S.H.I.E.L.D. The synopsis involves Fury calling up various superheroes: The Hulk, Captain America, Black Widow, Thor, Iron Man, and Hawkeye, to help defend against a plot by Loki (Thor’s brother) against planet Earth.

With the movie set to open in several days from now, the Rotten Tomatoes website already has a collection of Avengers movie reviews. As of our report, the website has given it a score on its “Tomatometer” of 97% which is pretty remarkable as its one of the highest scores for any movie in some time. Then again, there will be more critics weighing in as this one arrives to theaters Friday, including the most important critics, the movie goers. Here’s a few blurbs from the positive reviews so far:
Kyle Smith of NY Post says:
“‘The Avengers’ is neither overwhelming nor underwhelming. What it expertly is, is whelming.”
Christy Lemire gives praise to the actors and character development as well as dialogue:
“The dialogue sparkles as brightly as the special effects; these people may be wearing ridiculous costumes but they’re well fleshed-out underneath. And so in every regard, this movie truly fulfills its hype.”
And Time Magazine’s Richard Corliss says:

Avengers movie times are starting to hit the internet in anticipation of the new film. As of our report today, there may not be any “The Avengers” movie showtimes listed online for certain areas, but Fandango is offering a signup for movie goers to be notified as soon as they are available in their area.
