The 2012 WWE SummerSlam results will be arriving on Sunday evening, complete with a free pre-show and live streaming match, and then the main Pay-Per-View. This year the event is being held at the more than 18,000 capacity Staples Center in Los Angeles. This venue is developing a name for itself for hosting SummerSlam as this is the fourth consecutive edition held at the well known arena in California.
This annual pay per view event is going to be held this coming Sunday August 19th at 8:00pm ET on Pay per View. There is also a convenient option of ordering SummerSlam live streaming from the WWE website for viewers without the pay-per-view option. This will provide the viewer a live online stream where they get to enjoy the whole show from their computer. The live streaming version works on both PC’s and Mac’s, and allows for full viewing of the show for a similar price to the standard definition TV PPV.
There’s also a special SummerSlam pre-show beginning at 7:30PM EST on the WWE’s YouTube channel. This will feature a United States Championship match with Santino Marella defending his title against newcomer Antonio Cesaro. These two have been in a feud for weeks now, so one will leave the Staples Center as champion. Fans will be able to see this match free of charge online, as well as exclusive interviews and other pre-PPV segments. That all comes before the main card of matches at 8PM EST, which are available for order via cable, satellite, or live stream internet feed.
The latest Pay-Per-View promises to be an explosive follow up to the last pay-per-view event WWE hosted, Money in the Bank. The events leading up to SummerSlam have been very interesting, key among them, WWE champion CM Punk suddenly turning his back on the WWE Universe. This has developed into a heated tension with him trying to justify his actions. Through it all, he has found himself in the tough position of battling in a triple threat match against John Cena and the Big Show. Will John Cena or Big Show end up leaving SummerSlam as the new WWE Champion, or can Punk continue his impressive reign?
Another electrifying bout could come between “The Game” Triple H and former UFC star Brock Lesnar. This all started with some legal battles between the WWE and Brock, after Lesnar had played the role of bully and broke HHH’s arm. This effectively put Triple H out of action for a while till he finally came back with revenge on his mind. Just recently, his friend Shawn Michaels chose to side with his DX pal HHH, but ended up getting his arm broken by Lesnar as well. It’s unknown if Michaels will make it to ringisde, but this is perhaps the most talked about match of the event.
Another key bout pits Alberto Del Rio against Sheamus for the World Heavyweight Championship. It had previously looked like this match wouldn’t go on due to Del Rio’s attack on the champ, but Smackdown General Manager Booker T reinstated it as of Friday night’s show. Can Del Rio capture the World Heavyweight title from “The Celtic Warrior?”
